Adult Lessons Terms and Conditions

One to One Lessons:

Payment is due before or on the day of each swimming lesson, or alternatively and if applicable, on the first lesson of a predetermined block of lessons.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, or debit & credit cards only; The Cambridge Swimming Academy shall not accept payment in any other format. Cheques should be made payable to The Cambridge Swimming Academy. The Cambridge Swimming Academy may at its discretion accept late payment and reserves the right to add onto such payment a charge of 5% of the total payment due.

Cancellation: if you cancel your lesson less than 24 hours before the lesson is due to start, you shall be liable to account for the full payment as due, whether it be payment in respect of an individual lesson or payment in respect of a block of lessons. If you cancel your lesson between 24 hours and 48 hours before it is due to start, you will be liable to account for 50% of the payment due. Cancellations due to sickness will be credited to your account with The Cambridge Swimming Academy; please refer further to the Sickness condition below. Any cancellations due to disasters, terrorism, war and pandemics will not be refundable. See also Pool closures condition below.

Sickness If you are sick then you will not be charged for an arranged lesson but this is on the condition that you telephone The Cambridge Swimming Academy directly at least 1 hour before such arranged lesson is due to start. If there are any signs of stomach upset and sickness in the family on the day of the arranged lesson or in the 7 days leading up to such lesson, you must inform The Cambridge Swimming Academy and we reserve the right to cancel such lesson due to the safety of you and others.

Medical Conditions: All medical conditions, irrespective of severity, must be declared in writing to us. The Cambridge Swimming Academy will at its discretion decide whether such conditions will restrict your engagement in lessons and shall duly notify you of such decision within 48 hours of notice of such condition being given. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically safe to swim. The Cambridge Swimming Academy will not be deemed liable for any accidents or injuries arising from swimming with us which relate to your individual medical conditions.

Pool Closures can on rare occasions occur and will force us to cancel lessons. If it is possible we will make up these lessons within 7 working days of such cancellation; although this is not guaranteed and shall be dependant on teacher and pool availability. If a pool is closed due to a fault on our part that is within our control or on the pools part, such as vomit or faeces in the pool, then you will be fully credited for any lessons missed.

Special Needs and Disabled students are welcome to attend lessons where possible at all our venues, although we do not employ specially trained staff and can therefore not be held liable for the care of such students beyond the teaching of swimming techniques.

Group Lessons

Payment is due by standing order on the 1st of each month in order to secure your place for our group sessions. Students may come on a "pay as you go" basis for the duration of the current month. If the student wishes to continue with lessons following the first initial month then a standing order account for payment must be made with The Cambridge Swimming Academy by the 1st of the month following. If payment is received more than 7 days after the 1st of the month, whether it be in respect of the initial month or the month following the initial "pay as you go" period, we reserve the right to add a late payment charge of 10% and offer your place to someone else

Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your place, then 4 weeks notice once lessons have begun must be given and paid for. Missing lessons due to sickness will not be credited. Any cancellations due to disasters, terrorism, war and pandemics will not be refundable. See also Pool closures condition below.
